Edna Baldovino, RN, is the charge nurse in the Telemetry department at Community Hospital of Huntington Park.

She’s also the hospital’s latest recipient of the prestigious Daisy Award.

According to Chief Nursing Officer Colleen Bauer, Baldovino was nominated by her peers from several departments.

“The common words used to describe Edna were extraordinary, compassionate, courteous, professional, calming, kind and wise,” Bauer said. “She treats all people with respect, including the patients and staff. She is an excellent mentor. Edna is well deserving of this important award.”

Baldovino has worked at the Huntington Park hospital for 25 years. The award was presented June 23.

The Daisy Award is presented to nurses across the country for the extraordinary compassion and skillful care they provide to patients and their families.
