Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Whaley is a seasoned healthcare executive who brings expertise and experience in leadership, nursing, policy formation, change management and innovation.
“His special interests include staff development, physician engagement, expansion, improvement of operational efficiencies and building great teams—all interests that align with ours,” Badalian said.
Whaley comes to Community Hospital of Huntington Park from KPC Health in Orange County, where he had responsibility for South Coast Global Medical Center and Chapman Global Medical Center. With that organization since 2019, he has held the positions of CEO, COO and CNO at those facilities. His accomplishments there include implementation of a Da Vinci surgical robot program, physician recruitment and facility growth.
Previously, Whaley served as an administrator at Southern California Hospital at Hollywood, part of the Alta Hospitals System, Inc.
In his free time, he enjoys volunteering with and fundraising for various non-profits, including the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association and American Lung Association. He is also the Immediate Past President of Healthcare Executives of Southern California.
Guadalupe Ojeda, RN, BSN, MBA
Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
Guadalupe “Lupe” Ojeda is an experienced Registered Nurse with over 20 years under her belt, working in a multitude of capacities and leadership roles. She completed her degree in nursing, followed by an MBA in 2008 from Pepperdine University and is in the process of completing her Doctorate in Healthcare Administration from Virginia University of Lynchburg. Lupe has an exceptional talent for fostering patient, physician and employee relations, and holds a wealth of knowledge when it comes to acute inpatient and outpatient facilities, as well as with start-up ventures.
Lupe has worked in various departments, including surgery, labor & delivery, and as an OR Tech. She has worked as a Chief Nursing Officer in her last few positions, gaining valuable skills and learning the inner workings from a managerial perspective. Lupe speaks both English and Spanish, and is passionate about engaging her team and providing every patient with the care that they need and deserve.
