Jaime Luna, RN, charge nurse on the Telemetry Unit, received his DAISY Award Jan. 19. The DAISY Award recognizes a nurse’s deep caring and compassion for the patients she serves.
He joined the Huntington Park hospital in February 2013.
One of Luna’s nominators wrote the following:
“For the past 10 years I have witnessed Jaime’s exceptional care day in and day out. Jaime is the true definition of a nurse. He is caring, compassionate, helpful and a true team player in the telemetry unit.
“Every time I talk to Jaime he is concerned about our patients’ health and well-being. You will always see him advocating for our patients. You see him talking to doctors, families and team members. Jaime strives to provide the best care possible. He is reassuring and professional. In emergency situations Jaime always stays calm.”
