A late July survey ended in success for the Laboratory and Pulmonary departments at Community Hospital of Huntington Park.

Over the course of two intensive days, July 29-30, three surveyors conducted comprehensive staff interviews, documentation reviews and live procedural observations.

“I’m proud to share the CHHP Laboratory/Pulmonary Departments have successfully completed the Accreditation Survey of the Accreditation Commission for Health Care,” reported hospital CEO Hector Hernandez. “The survey went exceptionally well. All findings were minor in nature and posed no immediate threat to health or safety.”
Hernandez noted that surveyors complimented staff on how well the team maintains compliance and quality in a highly regulated environment and how they greatly improved from their last survey.

“These findings will help us grow even stronger,” Hernandez said. “Special recognition goes to Dr. Luke Watson and Dr. Shang-Tian Chuang, whose leadership continues to inspire and guide us.”

Hernandez also recognized Neveen Kerllos, laboratory director, and Emma Bonoan, cardiopulmonary director, for their leadership, “…steering the team with such talent and commitment throughout this process.”

He added, “This achievement is a testament to the integrity and talent of our laboratory and cardiopulmonary professionals. They all showed quality is not just a goal—it’s a standard they live by every day.”
